Principal Engineer - iOS Mobile App Telematics

We're looking for an experienced Principal Engineer – iOS Mobile App Telematics to join the Geico Auto Insurance team. In this role, you will lead the development of innovative iOS mobile applications that provide telematics services to our customers. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions, on time, and in line with our technical and business requirements.To be successful in this role, you must have extensive experience in developing iOS mobile applications, as well as a passion for making user experience the focal point of every project. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities. The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field• 8+ years of experience in developing iOS mobile applications• Proficiency with Swift and iOS SDK• Knowledge of OOP, design patterns, and software architecture principles• Ability to work with a variety of technologies and platforms• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of innovative iOS mobile applications that provide telematics services to our customers • Deliver high-quality solutions, on time, and in line with our technical and business requirements • Work with a variety of technologies and platforms • Utilize Swift, iOS SDK, OOP, design patterns, and software architecture principles • Investigate new technologies and develop prototypes • Create detailed technical documentation • Collaborate with other teams to ensure successful integration of the mobile applications • Maintain and update existing applications • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers • Develop and execute quality assurance tests • Troubleshoot and debug technical issues
