Job Description

Geico Auto Insurance is seeking an experienced Government Relations Counsel to join our team and help us navigate the complex legal and political landscape of Regulated Industries. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong political acumen, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the legislative process. We’re looking for a creative and collaborative problem solver who can help us enact policy change and protect our interests.Qualifications:• Juris Doctor or equivalent degree from an accredited law school• 3+ years of experience in Government Relations or a related field• Knowledge of the legislative process and the ability to craft and execute effective strategies• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously• Ability to work with high-level government officials and elected representatives• A commitment to integrity and a passion for the work of Geico Auto Insurance

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, analyze, and interpret legislative and regulatory developments that may impact Geico Auto Insurance. • Draft and negotiate legislative and regulatory initiatives on behalf of Geico Auto Insurance. • Prepare written materials for legislative and regulatory proceedings, such as testimony, fact sheets, and talking points. • Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, elected representatives, and other stakeholders. • Advise senior leaders on legal and political considerations related to Geico Auto Insurance. • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. • Research and analyze current and proposed laws, regulations, and policies. • Represent Geico Auto Insurance at hearings and other public forums. • Develop strategies to advocate for Geico Auto Insurance's interests and to oppose unwanted legislation. • Prepare and submit reports to internal and external stakeholders.
