
Government Relations Counsel
Geico Auto Insurance is seeking an experienced Government Relations Counsel to join our dynamic team. As the ideal candidate, you have a strong background in governmental affairs, public policy, and advocacy to help us strategically navigate our relationships with government entities and related organizations. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, confident, and articulate individual who can represent our organization in all facets of government relations.In this role, you will develop and maintain relationships with government officials, leverage your knowledge of public policy and legislation to identify initiatives and strategies to advance our interests, and provide counsel to senior leadership on legislative and regulatory matters. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to identify and analyze trends and develop successful strategies.The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or related disciplines. A law degree is preferred. Must be able to travel and participate in legislative and other meetings. We offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with government officials.
- Leverage knowledge of public policy and legislation to identify initiatives and strategies to advance the organization's interests.
- Provide counsel to senior leadership on legislative and regulatory matters.
- Analyze trends and develop successful strategies.
- Participate in legislative and other meetings.
- Prepare reports on legislative activities and government relations initiatives.
- Monitor local, state, and federal legislation and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Represent the organization in all facets of government relations.
- Develop and implement government relations strategies and tactics.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and other interested parties.
