  1. Develop and maintain secure software systems using cryptography and data protection techniques.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test software solutions.
  3. Conduct research and stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in cryptography and data protection.
  4. Implement and enforce security protocols and standards to protect sensitive data.
  5. Identify and address potential security vulnerabilities in software systems.
  6. Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues related to cryptography and data protection.
  7. Develop and maintain documentation for software systems, including security protocols and procedures.
  8. Continuously monitor and analyze system security logs and metrics to identify and respond to potential security threats.
  9. Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  10. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior software engineers in the areas of cryptography and data protection.
  11. Collaborate with external vendors and partners to ensure the security of shared data and systems.
  12. Participate in code reviews and actively contribute to the improvement of software development processes.
  13. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cryptography and data protection to ensure Geico is utilizing the most effective solutions.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and any potential security concerns.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Cryptography And Data Protection: A Distinguished Software Engineer In This Role Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Cryptography Algorithms, Key Management, Encryption, And Data Protection Techniques.

  • Strong Programming Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Foundation In Programming Languages Such As Java, Python, And C++, As Well As Experience In Developing Secure Software Applications.

  • Experience With Security Frameworks And Protocols: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Security Frameworks And Protocols Such As Pki, Ssl/Tls, And Oauth.

  • Familiarity With Compliance And Regulatory Requirements: As A Distinguished Software Engineer In This Role, The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Compliance And Regulatory Requirements Related To Data Security, Such As Hipaa, Gdpr, And Pci-Dss.

  • Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills: A Distinguished Software Engineer Should Possess Excellent Problem-Solving And Analytical Skills To Identify And Mitigate Potential Security Risks And Vulnerabilities. They Should Also Be Able To Think Critically And Creatively To Come Up With Innovative Solutions.
