We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Assistant Manager, Merchandising to join our team at Gap. The ideal candidate for this role will be a creative problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude. You should be able to work well independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. You must also have advanced knowledge of apparel and accessory product development, and an understanding of current trends in the fashion industry. Additionally, you should have excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills. A passion for fashion and customer service is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor current market trends and anticipate future trends to assist in the development of product strategies
- Source and purchase fashion apparel and accessories to ensure product selection is up to date and in line with customer preferences
- Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for increased sales and profitability
- Assist in the planning and execution of product launches and special promotional activities
- Create and maintain seasonal merchandise plans and assortment plans
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Manage inventory levels, returns, and transfers
- Monitor product performance and make recommendations to improve sales
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
- Work closely with store teams to ensure merchandise is properly displayed and promoted
