- Develop and implement strategic plans for the cyber security engineering team, in alignment with the overall company goals and objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of cyber security engineers, providing guidance and support in their professional growth and development.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security technologies and threats, and proactively identify potential vulnerabilities and risks within the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the implementation of effective security measures across all systems and networks.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure systems and networks, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption methods.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify any potential weaknesses and recommend improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, to effectively communicate the importance of cyber security and ensure buy-in for security initiatives.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.
- Create and maintain policies, procedures, and guidelines related to cyber security engineering.
- Respond to and manage security incidents, conducting thorough investigations and implementing remediation plans as needed.
- Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to cyber security, and ensure compliance within the organization.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cyber security measures, making recommendations for improvements as necessary.
- Represent the organization in meetings and conferences related to cyber security.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and education within the organization.
Extensive Experience In Cyber Security Engineering: A Senior Director At Freddie Mac Must Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In The Field Of Cyber Security Engineering, With A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Implementing And Managing Complex Security Solutions.
Strong Leadership Skills: This Position Requires The Ability To Lead And Manage A Team Of Cyber Security Engineers, As Well As Collaborate With Other Teams And Departments Within The Organization. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous Experience In A Leadership Role, With The Ability To Motivate And Inspire Their Team.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Security Technologies And Tools: A Senior Director Must Possess A Deep Understanding Of Current And Emerging Cyber Security Technologies And Tools, Including Network Security, Endpoint Protection, Threat Intelligence, And Vulnerability Management. They Must Also Be Able To Evaluate And Implement New Technologies To Enhance The Organization's Security Posture.
Risk Management Expertise: The Senior Director Will Be Responsible For Identifying Potential Security Risks And Developing Strategies To Mitigate Them. They Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Risk Management Principles And Be Able To Effectively Communicate Risks To Senior Management.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Requires Frequent Communication With Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization, As Well As External Partners And Vendors. The Senior Director Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Technical Concepts To Non-Technical Stakeholders And Build Strong Relationships With Internal And External Teams.
