- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities within our network and systems.
- Analyze scan results and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and track progress of vulnerability remediation efforts, and provide regular updates to management.
- Stay up to date on the latest security threats and trends, and proactively identify potential vulnerabilities within our systems.
- Work closely with other members of the Cyber Security team to continuously improve our vulnerability management processes and procedures.
- Communicate and educate stakeholders on best practices for identifying and reporting potential vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular training and awareness sessions for employees to promote a culture of security awareness.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of security policies and procedures related to vulnerability management.
- Act as a subject matter expert on vulnerability management and provide guidance and support to other members of the Cyber Security team.
- Conduct research and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance our vulnerability management capabilities.
- Participate in incident response and security investigations related to vulnerabilities.
- Prepare reports and presentations on vulnerability management for senior management and other stakeholders.
In-Depth Knowledge Of Vulnerability Management Tools And Techniques: A Strong Candidate For This Role Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Vulnerability Scanning Tools, As Well As Vulnerability Assessment Methodologies. This Knowledge Will Enable Them To Effectively Identify, Prioritize, And Remediate Vulnerabilities Within Freddie Mac's It Infrastructure.
Familiarity With Industry Standards And Best Practices: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Firm Grasp Of Industry Standards And Best Practices Related To Vulnerability Management, Such As The Common Vulnerability Scoring System (Cvss), The National Vulnerability Database (Nvd), And The Open Web Application Security Project (Owasp). This Knowledge Will Help Ensure That Freddie Mac's Vulnerability Management Program Aligns With Industry Best Practices.
Experience With Vulnerability Identification And Remediation: The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Identifying And Remediating Vulnerabilities In Complex It Environments. This Includes Experience With Vulnerability Scanning, Penetration Testing, And Patch Management.
Strong Understanding Of Network And System Security: A Solid Understanding Of Network And System Security Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Network Protocols And Security Controls, As Well As Experience With Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, And Other Security Technologies.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, As They Will Be Working Closely With Cross-Functional Teams To Ensure That Vulnerabilities Are Identified And Addressed In A Timely Manner. They Should Also Be Able To Effectively Communicate Technical Information To Non-Technical Stakeholders And Senior Management.
