  1. Curate and oversee the wine program at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
  2. Provide exceptional hospitality and customer service to guests.
  3. Demonstrate a deep understanding and knowledge of wine and its production.
  4. Create a warm and approachable atmosphere for guests.
  5. Assist guests in selecting the perfect wine to complement their dining experience.
  6. Ensure the wine selection meets the highest standards of quality and taste.
  7. Train and educate staff on wine pairings and proper service techniques.
  8. Maintain and update the wine inventory and pricing.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with wine distributors and suppliers.
  10. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and new wine offerings.
  11. Conduct wine tastings and events to showcase the wine program.
  12. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create wine pairing menus.
  13. Handle any guest inquiries or complaints regarding the wine program.
  14. Ensure compliance with all alcohol laws and regulations.
  15. Continuously strive to elevate the wine program and exceed guest expectations.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Wine: A Sommelier At Four Seasons Hotels And Resorts Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Different Types Of Wine, Grape Varietals, Regions, And Production Processes. This Knowledge Should Extend To Both Old And New World Wines.

  • Certification: A Sommelier Should Ideally Possess A Certification From A Recognized Wine Organization, Such As The Court Of Master Sommeliers Or The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (Wset). This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Expertise And Dedication To The Field.

  • Experience In Fine Dining: Four Seasons Hotels And Resorts Are Renowned For Their High-End Dining Experiences. A Sommelier Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Fine Dining Establishment, Preferably In A High-End Hotel Or Restaurant, And Be Familiar With The Expectations And Demands Of This Type Of Setting.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Sommelier, You Will Be Interacting With Guests On A Daily Basis, Recommending And Pairing Wines To Enhance Their Dining Experience. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential To Excel In This Role.

  • Multilingual Abilities: As Four Seasons Hotels And Resorts Cater To An International Clientele, A Sommelier Should Be Proficient In Multiple Languages. This Will Not Only Help In Communicating With Guests From Different Backgrounds But Also In Understanding And Promoting Wines From Various Regions.
