  1. Design and develop innovative interior trim components for Ford vehicles to enhance the overall driving experience for customers.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure the successful implementation of interior trim solutions.
  3. Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify industry trends and incorporate them into interior trim designs.
  4. Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create detailed drawings and specifications for interior trim components.
  5. Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis to determine the most efficient and cost-effective materials and manufacturing processes for interior trim.
  6. Oversee the prototype and testing phases of interior trim development to ensure quality and functionality.
  7. Continuously evaluate and improve upon existing interior trim designs to meet customer needs and preferences.
  8. Stay updated on safety and regulatory standards related to interior trim and ensure compliance in all designs.
  9. Collaborate with suppliers to source and develop new materials and technologies for interior trim.
  10. Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to support the overall development process.
  11. Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions to management and cross-functional teams.
  12. Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company by staying informed of industry developments and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or Related Field: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field Is Typically Required For An Interior Trim Engineer Position At Ford Motor. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Solid Foundation In Engineering Principles And Can Apply Them To The Design And Development Of Interior Trim Components.

  • Experience In Automotive Industry: Previous Experience In The Automotive Industry, Particularly In Interior Trim Design And Engineering, Is Highly Preferred For This Role. This Experience Allows The Candidate To Have A Better Understanding Of The Industry And Its Regulations, As Well As Familiarity With Production Processes And Materials Used In Automotive Interiors.

  • Proficiency In Cad Software: A Strong Proficiency In Computer-Aided Design (Cad) Software, Such As Catia Or Solidworks, Is A Must For An Interior Trim Engineer At Ford Motor. This Skill Is Crucial For Creating Detailed And Accurate Designs For Trim Components And Collaborating With Other Engineers And Designers On The Team.

  • Knowledge Of Materials And Manufacturing Processes: A Good Understanding Of Different Materials Used In Automotive Interiors, Their Properties, And Manufacturing Processes Is Essential For An Interior Trim Engineer. This Knowledge Allows The Engineer To Select The Most Suitable Materials For A Particular Component And Ensure Its Optimal Performance And Durability.

  • Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Skills: An Interior Trim Engineer At Ford Motor Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Excellent Problem-Solving Skills. This Enables Them To Identify Potential Issues In Designs And Come Up With Effective Solutions That Meet Both Design And Production Requirements.
