  1. Develop functional safety requirements for software systems in Ford vehicles.
  2. Ensure compliance with functional safety standards and regulations throughout the software development process.
  3. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, engineers, and product managers, to design and implement safety features.
  5. Conduct thorough testing and validation of safety-critical software components.
  6. Analyze and report on potential safety risks and provide recommendations for improvement.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in functional safety standards.
  8. Participate in safety reviews and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  9. Communicate and coordinate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and suppliers, on safety-related matters.
  10. Mentor and train other team members on functional safety principles and best practices.
  11. Continuously monitor and improve the functional safety process within the organization.
  12. Act as a subject matter expert on functional safety for the company, providing guidance and support to other teams as needed.
  13. Participate in the development of safety-related documentation and procedures.
  14. Proactively identify and address potential safety issues in existing software systems.
  15. Contribute to the overall safety culture within the company and promote a continuous improvement mindset.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Functional Safety Engineering In The Automotive Industry.

  • Strong Understanding Of Iso 26262 And Other Relevant Safety Standards.

  • Proficiency In Software Development And Testing Processes, Including Safety Analysis And Verification.

  • Experience With Safety-Critical Software Development Tools And Techniques, Such As Fault Tree Analysis And Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (Fmea).
