- Handle perishable products: Responsible for handling all perishable products, including but not limited to fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy, with care and attention to detail.
- Ensure product safety: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure that all perishable products are handled, stored, and displayed in a safe and hygienic manner.
- Monitor quality: Regularly check the freshness, quality, and expiration dates of perishable products to ensure they meet company standards and customer expectations.
- Stock and rotate products: Maintain proper stock levels and rotate products to ensure that the oldest products are sold first, minimizing waste and ensuring freshness.
- Assist customers: Provide friendly and helpful customer service, answering questions and helping customers find specific products in the perishable department.
- Maintain cleanliness: Keep work area and displays clean and organized, following sanitation and food safety guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with team: Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient and seamless operations in the perishable department.
- Follow company policies: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including dress code, attendance, and punctuality.
- Handle customer complaints: Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns regarding perishable products, escalating to management if necessary.
- Continuously improve: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in handling perishable products, and suggest improvements to processes and procedures.
Experience In Handling And Storing Perishable Items: Candidates For A Perishable Associate Job At Food Lion Should Have Previous Experience Working With Perishable Items, Such As Fresh Produce, Meat, And Dairy Products. This Includes Knowledge Of Proper Storage Techniques And Understanding Of Expiration Dates.
Knowledge Of Food Safety And Sanitation Regulations: As A Perishable Associate, It Is Crucial To Have An Understanding Of Food Safety And Sanitation Guidelines To Ensure The Freshness And Quality Of Products. Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Role Of A Perishable Associate At Food Lion Requires Working In A Fast-Paced Environment, Especially During Busy Periods Such As Holidays Or Weekends. Candidates Should Be Able To Thrive In A Fast-Paced Setting And Handle Multiple Tasks Efficiently.
