As a Physical Security Specialist at the FDA, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing security protocols, conducting risk assessments, and responding to security incidents.   1. Develop and implement comprehensive physical security protocols for all FDA facilities and assets.
  2. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  3. Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  4. Monitor and analyze security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems, to detect and respond to potential security breaches.
  5. Respond to security incidents, including conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
  6. Maintain and update security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
  7. Train and educate employees on security protocols and emergency procedures.
  8. Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and emergency response teams.
  9. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in physical security.
  10. Participate in emergency preparedness drills and exercises.
  11. Coordinate and oversee security contractors and vendors.
  12. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with security standards.
  13. Monitor and manage security budget and expenses.
  14. Communicate any security concerns or vulnerabilities to upper management.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve security measures to enhance the overall safety and protection of FDA facilities and assets.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Security Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Physical Security, Preferably In A Government Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Federal Regulations And Guidelines Related To Physical Security, Such As The Federal Information Security Management Act (Fisma) And The Health Insurance Portability And Accountability Act (Hipaa).

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Assess Potential Security Risks And Develop Effective Mitigation Strategies.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Internal And External Stakeholders To Ensure Effective Security Measures Are In Place.
