
Consumer Safety Officer

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is seeking a highly motivated and committed Consumer Safety Officer (CSO) to join our team! Our CSOs are vital to ensuring the safety of the products that are sold in the United States and abroad. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or Microbiology, as well as at least two years of experience in a regulatory environment, preferably in a food safety and/or consumer protection capacity. Additionally, the CSO should have a working knowledge of FDA regulations and an ability to effectively communicate with consumers, industry, and other government stakeholders. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate food and drug products to ensure they meet the safety and quality standards set by the FDA.
- Ensure that food and drug products comply with all relevant FDA regulations.
- Identify and investigate any potential food safety or consumer protection issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote product safety and consumer protection.
- Communicate effectively with consumers, industry, and other government stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and assistance to FDA staff and other stakeholders on food safety and consumer protection issues.
- Monitor and analyze the food and drug supply chain for potential safety risks.
- Develop and implement training programs for food and drug safety and consumer protection.
- Prepare reports and presentations on food safety and consumer protection initiatives.
- Maintain records and documentation related to food and drug safety and consumer protection.
