First Horizon is looking for an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join our team of professionals in providing quality underwriting services to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial underwriting, a passion for customer service, and the ability to think outside of the box to find solutions. As a Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating customer risk through financial analysis and determining the appropriate terms for loans and insurance policies.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of commercial underwriting experience, a Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, and a track record of success in the financial services industry. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, knowledge of banking regulations, and the ability to work independently are also essential. Responsibilities of a Commercial Underwriter:

• Evaluate customer risk through financial analysis and determine appropriate terms for loans and insurance policies. • Research and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other documents to assess customer eligibility. • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and external partners. • Monitor and manage pending credit decisions, ensuring timely and accurate processing. • Provide assistance to customers regarding requests for additional information or documents. • Maintain knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards. • Develop and review policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency of underwriting decisions. • Prepare reports for senior management and other stakeholders. • Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. • Identify areas of risk and suggest strategies to mitigate risks. • Assist in the development and implementation of new products and services.
