Job Description

At First Horizon, we are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Commercial Underwriting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lending and be an expert at analyzing and evaluating credit and financial data to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions. The Commercial Underwriter will serve as an integral part of the underwriting process and will be responsible for the timely and accurate analysis of loan applications.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in commercial lending, a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field, strong written and verbal communication skills, and excellent organizational skills. The candidate should also have a positive attitude, be able to work well in a fast-paced environment, and be able to work independently and as part of a team. A commitment to customer service and a strong attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities:

Analyze and evaluate credit and financial data to assess risk and make sound underwriting decisions.
Ensure that loan applications are analyzed in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintain a positive attitude and work well in a fast-paced environment.
Provide excellent customer service.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
Monitor market trends and adjust underwriting strategies accordingly.
Prepare and present credit reports and loan summaries.
Prepare and review loan documents.
Maintain accurate records of all loan transactions.
