
Collections Specialist
At First Horizon, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Collections Specialist to join our team. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate payment arrangements with customers. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in collections and have a customer-focused approach. Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field• Two or more years of experience in collections or customer service• Proficient in Microsoft Office• Strong interpersonal and communication skills• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial analysis• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills• Excellent negotiation skills
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer accounts and accurately assess payment arrangements.
- Develop and implement strategies to collect payments in a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers in an amicable and professional manner to negotiate payment arrangements.
- Maintain accurate records and update customer accounts accordingly.
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on any delinquent payments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding collections.
- Research and respond to customer inquiries and disputes in a timely manner.
- Assist in resolving customer complaints and providing customer service.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
- Provide weekly status reports on collections activities.
