
Risk Officer – Regulatory Relations

This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring our bank maintains strong relationships with regulatory agencies while also implementing effective risk management strategies. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, including but not limited to the Federal Reserve, FDIC, and OCC.
- Stay up-to-date on all regulatory changes and communicate any updates or changes to relevant departments within the bank.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement necessary measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams to ensure all policies and procedures are in line with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and present findings and recommendations related to regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Conduct regular training sessions for bank employees to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management program, including policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor and report on regulatory requirements and deadlines to ensure timely compliance.
- Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of risk management processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to proactively address potential risks and ensure a culture of risk awareness and management within the bank.
Strong Knowledge Of Regulatory Requirements And Guidelines: A Risk Officer – Regulatory Relations Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Various Regulations And Guidelines That Govern The Banking Industry, Such As Fdic, Occ, And Federal Reserve Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: This Role Involves Frequent Interaction With Regulatory Agencies, Internal Stakeholders, And External Partners. Therefore, A Risk Officer – Regulatory Relations Must Possess Exceptional Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Convey Complex Information And Build Relationships.
Analytical And Critical Thinking Skills: As A Risk Officer – Regulatory Relations, One Must Be Able To Analyze And Interpret Complex Regulatory Requirements And Identify Potential Risks And Gaps In The Bank's Compliance Processes. Strong Critical Thinking Skills Are Essential For Developing Effective Risk Management Strategies.
Experience In Risk Management And Regulatory Compliance: A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Risk Management And Regulatory Compliance Is Typically Required For This Role. This Should Include A Solid Understanding Of Risk Assessment Methodologies, Compliance Frameworks, And Regulatory Reporting Requirements.
Attention To Detail And Strong Organizational Skills: Compliance Is An Extremely Detail-Oriented Field, And A Risk Officer – Regulatory Relations Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Strong Organizational Skills To Manage Multiple Tasks And Deadlines Effectively. This Includes Maintaining Accurate Records And Documentation To Demonstrate Compliance With Regulatory Requirements.
