
Historic Preservation Specialist
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Historic Preservation Specialist to join the FEMA team! As a Historic Preservation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance to FEMA staff, stakeholders, and the public on matters related to historic preservation. You will assist with all phases of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) process, including project planning, compliance reviews, and the identification, evaluation, and protection of historic properties. Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in architectural history, historic preservation, anthropology, or related field, with three years of experience in historic preservation or a Master’s degree in any of the above fields with one year of experience. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, knowledge of the NHPA process, and the ability to work in a professional team environment.
