  1. Manage and oversee the grant application process for disaster recovery and emergency preparedness projects.
  2. Review and evaluate grant proposals to ensure they meet all necessary requirements and guidelines.
  3. Communicate with applicants and grant recipients to provide guidance and support throughout the grant management process.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grants and related documentation.
  5. Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with other FEMA departments and external partners to ensure effective and efficient grant management.
  7. Provide training and support to grant recipients on proper grant management procedures and requirements.
  8. Stay informed on relevant policies, regulations, and procedures related to grant management and make recommendations for improvements.
  9. Prepare reports and presentations on the status of grants and their impact on disaster recovery and emergency preparedness efforts.
  10. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  11. Continuously assess and improve grant management processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  12. Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to grant management and funding.
  13. Participate in meetings, conferences, and trainings related to grant management and disaster recovery.
  14. Perform any other duties as assigned by FEMA leadership to support the agency's mission and goals.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Federal Grant Regulations And Procedures: A Grant Management Specialist At Fema Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Federal Grant Regulations And Procedures, Including The Code Of Federal Regulations (Cfr) And The Office Of Management And Budget (Omb) Circulars.

  • Experience In Grant Management: Candidates For This Position Should Have Previous Experience In Managing Grants, Preferably In A Government Agency Or Non-Profit Organization. They Should Be Familiar With The Entire Grant Lifecycle, From Application And Award To Monitoring And Reporting.

  • Strong Financial Management Skills: A Grant Management Specialist Must Have Strong Financial Management Skills To Ensure Proper Budgeting And Tracking Of Grant Funds. This Includes The Ability To Review Financial Reports, Identify Discrepancies, And Make Recommendations For Corrective Action.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: This Role Requires Effective Communication With Internal And External Stakeholders, Including Grant Applicants, Grant Recipients, And Fema Leadership. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Facilitate Clear And Concise Communication.

  • Attention To Detail And Analytical Thinking: A Grant Management Specialist Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Strong Analytical Skills To Review Grant Proposals, Monitor Grant Activities, And Identify Potential Issues. They Should Also Have The Ability To Analyze Data And Make Informed Decisions Based On Their Findings.
