The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking an experienced Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) to join our team. As an integral part of our recovery efforts, you will play a critical role in helping communities affected by disasters to rebuild and recover. We are looking for candidates who possess a strong understanding of disaster recovery, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.   1. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and strategies to assist affected communities in rebuilding and recovering.
  2. Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure effective and efficient disaster recovery efforts.
  3. Conduct damage assessments and evaluate the needs of affected communities to determine appropriate recovery actions.
  4. Communicate with disaster survivors, government officials, and other stakeholders to provide updates and guidance on recovery efforts.
  5. Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to develop and implement recovery programs, policies, and procedures.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recovery programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  7. Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate recovery progress and outcomes.
  8. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to disaster recovery.
  9. Provide technical assistance and guidance to local governments and community organizations on disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  10. Stay current on trends and best practices in emergency management and disaster recovery to continuously improve recovery efforts.
  11. Train and mentor other emergency management professionals on recovery processes and procedures.
  12. Work collaboratively with other emergency management specialists to provide a coordinated response to disasters.
  13. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to disaster recovery efforts.
  14. Represent FEMA and the recovery program in meetings, conferences, and other events with stakeholders and the public.
  15. Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in all aspects of the job.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Emergency Management, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Disaster Recovery Operations Or Emergency Management.

  • Knowledge Of Federal Disaster Assistance Programs And Regulations, Including The Stafford Act.

  • Strong Project Management Skills, Including Ability To Develop And Implement Recovery Plans.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With Ability To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders And Teams.
