
Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation)
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is looking for an experienced Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation) to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing technical assistance, support, and expertise to state, local, and tribal governments in developing and implementing mitigation plans, programs, and projects. You’ll need to have a passion for emergency management and a commitment to public service. To be successful in this position, you’ll need to have a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related field and at least one year of experience in emergency management operations. You should also be well-versed in mitigation principles, practices, and techniques; be familiar with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations; and have strong problem-solving and organizational skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is a must. We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
