  1. Safely and efficiently handle freight and packages in a timely manner, following all company protocols and safety guidelines.
  2. Ensure accurate scanning and tracking of packages to maintain shipment integrity and provide real-time updates to customers.
  3. Collaborate with team members to load and unload trucks, organizing packages by route and ensuring proper placement in vehicles.
  4. Take ownership of the quality and condition of packages, identifying any damages or discrepancies and reporting them to the appropriate parties.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sorting and organizing packages and equipment.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and superiors to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  7. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
  8. Continuously strive to meet and exceed productivity goals and standards set by the company.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries and resolving any delivery issues.
  10. Contribute to a positive and professional work environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and cooperation among team members.

  • Physical Strength And Stamina: A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Packages And Boxes, Often Weighing Up To 70 Pounds, Throughout Their Shift. They Should Also Have The Endurance To Stand, Walk, And Bend For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In This Role As Freight Handlers Are Responsible For Sorting And Scanning Packages To Ensure They Are Placed On The Correct Truck For Delivery. The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Labels And Tracking Information Is Essential To Prevent Errors And Delays.

  • Team Player Mentality: Working In A Fast-Paced Warehouse Environment, Freight Handlers Must Be Able To Work Well With Others And Communicate Effectively. They May Also Need To Assist Coworkers With Loading Or Unloading Packages, So A Willingness To Collaborate And Help Out When Needed Is Important.

  • Time Management Skills: With Tight Delivery Schedules, Time Management Is Critical For A Freight Handler. They Must Be Able To Efficiently And Quickly Sort And Load Packages In Order To Meet Deadlines And Keep Operations Running Smoothly.
