- Safely and efficiently load and unload packages and freight from trucks and other modes of transportation.
- Sort, label, and organize packages and freight according to destination and delivery route.
- Operate machinery and equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to move and transport packages and freight.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure efficient workflow.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate and prioritize shipments and deliveries.
- Use computer systems and software to track and record packages and freight.
- Identify and report any damaged or missing packages or freight.
- Assist in the resolution of any delivery or shipment issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Continuously monitor and maintain the quality and accuracy of shipments and deliveries.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance and punctuality.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner while representing the company to customers and the public.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Physical Strength And Stamina: A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Lift And Move Heavy Packages, Often Weighing Up To 75 Pounds, For Extended Periods Of Time.
Attention To Detail: Accuracy And Precision Are Crucial In The Freight Handling Process To Ensure That Packages Are Properly Sorted, Loaded, And Unloaded.
