  1. Safely and efficiently handle freight and packages in accordance with FedEx guidelines and procedures.
  2. Ensure accurate loading, unloading, and sorting of freight and packages.
  3. Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight and packages.
  4. Adhere to safety regulations and practices to prevent accidents or injuries.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to optimize workflow.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of packages.
  7. Identify and report any issues or discrepancies with packages or freight.
  8. Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to security and confidentiality.
  9. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries and resolving any concerns.
  10. Meet productivity and performance standards set by the company.
  11. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and efficiency in freight handling processes.
  12. Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Adhere to company values and represent FedEx in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  14. Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate varying shift hours and possible overtime.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Physical Endurance: A Freight Handler At Fedex Must Have The Physical Stamina And Strength To Handle Heavy And Bulky Packages, Often For Extended Periods Of Time. This Includes The Ability To Lift And Carry Packages Weighing Up To 75 Lbs.

  • Forklift Operation Skills: Many Packages At Fedex Are Moved Using Forklifts, So Proficiency In Operating A Forklift Is A Key Qualification For A Freight Handler Job. This Includes Proper Training And Certification In Forklift Operation.

  • Time Management: Fedex Operates On Tight Schedules, So A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Work Efficiently And Manage Their Time Effectively To Ensure That Packages Are Loaded And Unloaded On Time. This Also Includes The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Meet Deadlines.

  • Teamwork And Communication: A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Work Well In A Team And Communicate Effectively With Coworkers And Supervisors. This Includes Following Instructions, Reporting Any Issues Or Concerns, And Collaborating To Ensure Efficient Package Handling.
