As a Freight Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight shipments.   1. Safely and efficiently load and unload freight shipments from trucks and other transportation vehicles.
  2. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  3. Organize and stack freight in designated areas to maximize space and ensure safe transportation.
  4. Inspect incoming and outgoing freight for any damage and report any issues to the appropriate parties.
  5. Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth and timely operations.
  7. Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any inquiries or concerns from customers and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  9. Adhere to company policies and procedures to maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  10. Assist in other warehouse duties as needed, such as inventory management, cleaning, and organizing.

  • Physical Fitness And Strength: A Freight Handler At Fedex Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift Heavy Packages, Often Weighing Over 50 Pounds, On A Regular Basis. The Job Also Requires Standing, Bending, And Walking For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Freight Handler, It Is Crucial To Accurately Identify And Sort Packages Based On Destination And Shipping Requirements. This Requires Strong Attention To Detail And The Ability To Work Quickly And Accurately.

  • Time Management Skills: Fedex Operates On Tight Schedules And Strict Delivery Deadlines. Therefore, A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Manage Time Effectively To Ensure Packages Are Loaded And Unloaded From Trucks In A Timely Manner.

  • Teamwork And Communication: Freight Handlers Work As Part Of A Team, Often In Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environments. Effective Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential To Ensure Packages Are Processed And Loaded Efficiently.

  • Forklift And Warehouse Equipment Experience: Many Fedex Facilities Use Forklifts And Other Warehouse Equipment To Move And Stack Packages. A Freight Handler Should Have Experience Operating This Equipment And Be Able To Do So Safely And Efficiently.
