  1. Safely and efficiently handle the movement of packages and freight in a timely manner.
  2. Utilize appropriate equipment and tools to load and unload packages and freight.
  3. Accurately scan and sort packages and freight based on destination and delivery timeframe.
  4. Follow all company procedures and guidelines for handling and processing packages and freight.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  6. Communicate any issues or concerns with packages or freight to superiors or relevant departments.
  7. Assist in resolving any customer inquiries or concerns related to package or freight delivery.
  8. Ensure all packages and freight are properly labeled and secured for transport.
  9. Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while handling packages and freight.
  10. Collaborate with team members to ensure all packages and freight are processed and delivered on time.
  11. Maintain accurate records of packages and freight received and delivered.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with customers and team members.
  13. Attend trainings and meetings as required to stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  14. Assist in training new team members on handling and processing packages and freight.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by superiors to support the overall operations of the company.

Job Qualifications

  • Physical Strength And Stamina: A Freight Handler Must Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift Heavy Packages, Often Weighing Up To 70 Pounds, Repeatedly Throughout The Day. They Should Also Be Able To Stand, Walk, And Bend For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Procedures: A Freight Handler Should Be Familiar With Safety Protocols And Procedures, Including Proper Lifting Techniques, Handling Hazardous Materials, And Operating Equipment Such As Forklifts And Pallet Jacks.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Fast-Paced Environment Of A Shipping Facility. A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Carefully Read And Understand Shipping Labels And Ensure That Packages Are Sorted And Loaded Onto The Correct Trucks.

  • Time Management Skills: In Order To Meet Tight Delivery Deadlines, A Freight Handler Must Be Able To Work Quickly And Efficiently. This Requires Excellent Time Management Skills, The Ability To Prioritize Tasks, And The Capacity To Work Well Under Pressure.

  • Teamwork And Communication: A Freight Handler Is Part Of A Larger Team, And Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Supervisors, Coworkers, And Delivery Drivers. They Should Have Strong Teamwork Skills, Be Able To Follow Instructions, And Work Well With Others In A Fast-Paced And Often Noisy Environment.
