As a Freight Handler, you will play a crucial role in our supply chain operations, ensuring that packages and shipments are processed and delivered efficiently.   1. Load and unload packages and shipments from trucks and conveyors using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
  2. Sort and organize packages and shipments based on destination and delivery timelines.
  3. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  4. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all shipments through thorough checking and scanning processes.
  5. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  6. Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  7. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to coordinate and streamline operations.
  8. Keep track of inventory levels and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
  9. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to dress code, attendance, and punctuality.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
  11. Continuously strive to improve productivity and efficiency by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service by handling packages and shipments with care and addressing any customer concerns or inquiries.
  13. Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment and meet productivity goals.
  14. Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends as needed.
  15. Uphold company values and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.

  • Physical Fitness And Strength: A Freight Handler At Fedex Must Have The Physical Ability To Lift Heavy Packages And Operate Equipment Such As Forklifts And Pallet Jacks. They Should Also Be Able To Stand, Bend, And Move For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Role Of A Freight Handler At Fedex. They Must Be Able To Quickly And Accurately Identify Package Labels, Codes, And Tracking Numbers To Ensure Packages Are Loaded Onto The Correct Trucks And Delivered To The Right Destinations.

  • Time Management Skills: The Ability To Work Quickly And Efficiently Is Essential For A Freight Handler. They Must Be Able To Sort, Organize, And Load Packages Onto Trucks Within Tight Time Constraints To Ensure On-Time Deliveries.

  • Teamwork And Communication Skills: Freight Handlers At Fedex Work In A Fast-Paced Environment And Often Collaborate With Other Team Members To Ensure Packages Are Loaded And Delivered Correctly. Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well In A Team Are Important Qualifications For This Role.
