  1. Conduct thorough research and stay up-to-date on international trade regulations, tariffs, and customs procedures.
  2. Serve as a subject matter expert on global trade laws and regulations and provide guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  3. Review and classify goods according to customs regulations and accurately calculate duties and taxes.
  4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, such as customs and border protection, to ensure compliance and resolve any issues that may arise.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to optimize trade processes and minimize costs.
  6. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their business needs and provide customized solutions to facilitate the timely movement of goods.
  7. Monitor and track shipments to ensure they are in compliance with customs regulations and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
  8. Conduct audits and provide training to ensure compliance with all trade regulations and company policies.
  9. Analyze data and prepare reports to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Customs Regulations And Trade Laws: A Customs Trade Specialist Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of The Laws And Regulations Surrounding International Trade, Including Tariffs, Duties, And Import/Export Controls.

  • Experience With Customs Documentation And Procedures: This Role Requires Experience In Completing And Processing Customs Documents, Such As Commercial Invoices, Bills Of Lading, And Customs Declarations.

  • Ability To Work With Various Government Agencies: Customs Trade Specialists Often Need To Communicate With Multiple Government Agencies, Such As U.s. Customs And Border Protection, To Ensure Compliance With Trade Laws And Regulations.

  • Familiarity With International Shipping And Logistics: Fedex Operates On A Global Scale, So Candidates Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of International Shipping And Logistics Processes.

  • Attention To Detail And Organizational Skills: A Customs Trade Specialist Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have Excellent Organizational Skills To Manage Multiple Shipments And Customs Processes Concurrently.
