- Coordinate international trade activities: Oversee and manage the movement of goods across borders, ensuring compliance with all applicable customs and trade regulations.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations: Stay up-to-date with changes in customs and trade laws, and develop strategies to ensure compliance for all shipments.
- Facilitate communication: Serve as the main point of contact for all customs and trade-related inquiries and provide timely and accurate information to all stakeholders.
- Process documentation: Collect, review, and process all necessary documentation for import and export shipments, including customs declarations, licenses, and permits.
- Monitor shipments: Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and handle any issues or delays that may arise during the transportation process.
- Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with other departments within the organization, such as logistics, supply chain, and finance, to ensure a smooth and efficient international trade process.
- Build relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with customs officials, government agencies, and other trade partners to facilitate the smooth movement of goods.
- Provide expertise: Offer expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on customs and trade regulations, and develop solutions to complex trade-related challenges.
- Conduct audits: Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with customs and trade regulations and identify areas for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement: Continuously review and improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in customs and trade operations.
Bachelor's Degree In International Business, Supply Chain Management, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Customs Brokerage Or Trade Compliance.
Strong Knowledge Of Customs Regulations, Import/Export Documentation, And Trade Compliance.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Customers, Customs Officials, And Internal Teams.
Proficiency In Computer Systems And Software Used For Customs Clearance And Trade Compliance, Such As Customs Automated Manifest Interface Requirements (Camir), Electronic Data Interchange (Edi), And Automated Broker Interface (Abi).
