  1. Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws and company regulations.
  2. Load and unload packages and shipments from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care is taken to prevent damage.
  3. Plan and organize daily delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of packages to customers.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  5. Communicate with customers to confirm delivery times and any special instructions or requests.
  6. Track and update delivery status using company technology and maintain accurate delivery records.
  7. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and security.
  8. Report any vehicle malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle, including regular maintenance and inspections.
  10. Continuously strive to improve delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) With Hazmat Endorsement: A Cdl Is Required To Operate A Commercial Vehicle, And A Hazmat Endorsement Is Necessary For Transporting Hazardous Materials, Which Is A Common Task For City Drivers At Fedex.

  • Clean Driving Record: Fedex Values Safe And Responsible Drivers, So A Clean Driving Record With No Major Violations Is Essential For This Role.

  • Knowledge Of Local Roads And Traffic Laws: City Drivers Need To Be Familiar With The Roads And Traffic Laws Of The City They Are Working In, As They Will Be Responsible For Navigating Through Busy Streets And Delivering Packages In A Timely Manner.

  • Physical Fitness And Ability To Lift Heavy Packages: This Job Can Be Physically Demanding, As City Drivers May Need To Load And Unload Heavy Packages Multiple Times A Day. Being In Good Physical Shape And Able To Lift Heavy Objects Is Important For This Role.
