Job Description

Identifies automation and process improvement ideas; directs others in implementation of existing financial files and processes. Performs ad-hoc projects with the ability to provide complex conceptual explanations to management. Prepares and reviews various quarterly and annual financial statements, schedules, exhibits, and disclosures. Coordinates the p reparation and release of quarterly and annual financial statements. Develops and maintains expertise in STAT, GAAP and IFRS and various reporting requirements. Monitors changes to reporting requirements and recommends and implements changes. Coordinates the quarterly and annual close schedules. Manages the preparation of new accounts, closing of the current month and various projects for SAP. Reviews information directly from the manager in the section.

Job Qualifications

  • Life Insurance Accounting Experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with SAP preferred

  • Desire to learn about the life insurance industry and Life insurance accounting particularly IFRS-17 the new Insurance Contracts Standard being implemented

  • A minimum of 4 years of prior Accounting or Finance experience.

  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred.
