  1. Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and systems for Experian's clients.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  3. Write efficient and high-quality code using COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe languages and tools.
  4. Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the stability and functionality of the developed solutions.
  5. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in mainframe technology and recommend improvements and enhancements to existing systems.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise, providing timely and effective solutions.
  7. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and team members.
  8. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of projects and meet business objectives.
  9. Participate in code reviews and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
  10. Document technical specifications, processes, and procedures for future reference.
  11. Continuously monitor and maintain the performance and security of mainframe systems.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and potential roadblocks.
  13. Take ownership of assigned tasks and proactively identify and address any potential risks or issues.
  14. Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  15. Continuously strive to improve processes, systems, and methodologies to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.
  16. Collaborate with other teams within Experian to ensure seamless integration of mainframe systems with other systems and applications.

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive Experience With Mainframe Technologies: A Senior Mainframe Developer At Experian Should Possess A Deep Understanding And Hands-On Experience With Mainframe Technologies Such As Cobol, Jcl, Vsam, And Db2.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: This Role Requires The Ability To Troubleshoot And Resolve Complex Technical Issues In A Timely Manner. A Senior Mainframe Developer Should Be Able To Analyze Large Amounts Of Data And Identify Root Causes Of Problems.

  • Knowledge Of Industry Best Practices: Experian Expects Its Senior Mainframe Developers To Have A Strong Understanding Of Industry Best Practices And Standards For Mainframe Development. This Includes Knowledge Of Security Protocols, Data Governance, And Coding Standards.
