  1. Develop and implement secure coding practices to ensure the protection of user data on the Etsy platform.
  2. Conduct regular security assessments and audits of web applications to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security features for new and existing applications.
  4. Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve the security of Etsy's platform.
  5. Proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks and threats.
  6. Work closely with product teams to ensure security requirements are incorporated into the development process.
  7. Conduct security training and knowledge sharing sessions for fellow engineers to improve overall security awareness and understanding.
  8. Monitor and respond to security incidents, conducting post-incident analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  9. Communicate complex security topics and risks to non-technical stakeholders.
  10. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to ensure all code is written with security in mind.
  11. Continuously improve and streamline security processes and procedures.
  12. Serve as a subject matter expert on web application security and provide guidance to other team members.
  13. Act as a liaison between the engineering team and external security auditors.
  14. Handle and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  15. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
