Senior Accountant, Compensation Accounting

We’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant, Compensation Accounting at Etsy to join our Accounting team! This person will be responsible for overseeing and executing the accurate accounting of the company’s compensation and benefit plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be detail-oriented, and have experience working in a fast-paced environment.Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint• Familiarity with QuickBooks and other accounting software• Ability to work independently and as part of a teamDo you have the passion and expertise to help ensure our compensation and benefit plans are accurately accounted for? Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements related to compensation and benefit plans • Monitor and review employee compensation and benefits transactions • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting and regulatory requirements • Maintain records of employee compensation and benefits plans • Prepare journal entries and maintenance of account reconciliations • Assist with internal and external audits of the company’s compensation and benefit plans • Analyze and report on the accuracy of payroll and benefit records • Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures for compensation and benefit accounting • Assist with the preparation of budgets related to compensation and benefits • Research and recommend solutions to complex accounting issues
