  1. Collaborate with artists, animators, and programmers to create high-quality character rigs that meet technical and artistic requirements.
  2. Develop innovative rigging techniques to enhance character performances and animation quality.
  3. Troubleshoot and problem-solve rigging issues to ensure smooth and efficient animation.
  4. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in rigging technology.
  5. Work closely with the animation team to understand their needs and provide technical solutions.
  6. Ensure rigging pipelines are efficient and scalable for multiple projects and platforms.
  7. Optimize rigs for performance and memory usage.
  8. Test and debug rigs to ensure functionality and quality standards.
  9. Document and maintain rigging processes and workflows for future reference.
  10. Proactively identify and communicate potential technical issues or roadblocks to project leads.
  11. Collaborate with other technical artists to share knowledge and improve overall processes.
  12. Continuously seek feedback and incorporate it into rigging techniques and processes.
  13. Meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work within given time constraints.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members to understand project needs and provide updates on progress.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Understanding Of Rigging And Animation Techniques: A Technical Artist - Rigging At Electronic Arts Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Rigging And Animation Techniques, Including Skinning, Deformation, And Character Setup. This Is Essential For Creating High-Quality Character Rigs That Can Be Used For Realistic Animations.

  • Proficiency In Industry-Standard Software: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Working Knowledge Of Industry-Standard Software Such As Autodesk Maya, 3Ds Max, And Motionbuilder. They Should Also Be Familiar With Scripting Languages Like Python Or Mel To Develop Tools And Automate Rigging Processes.

  • Experience With Game Engines: Electronic Arts Uses Proprietary Game Engines For Their Projects, So A Technical Artist - Rigging Should Have Experience Working With Game Engines Like Frostbite Or Unreal Engine. They Should Understand The Technical Constraints Of Game Engines And How To Optimize Rigs For Real-Time Performance.

  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Technical Artists - Rigging Are Responsible For Creating Complex Character Rigs That Meet The Needs Of Animators And Game Developers. They Should Be Able To Identify And Solve Technical Issues Efficiently And Creatively, Often Under Tight Deadlines.

  • Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills: A Technical Artist - Rigging At Electronic Arts Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Various Teams, Including Animators, Game Designers, And Programmers. They Should Also Be Comfortable Collaborating With Other Technical Artists To Find Solutions And Share Knowledge.
