Sr. Product manager - Taxonomy & Catalog

- Develop and execute strategies for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of eBay's catalog management system.
- Lead and manage the Taxonomy & Catalog team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Utilize strong understanding of e-commerce to drive product catalog improvements and identify areas for growth.
- Work cross-functionally with teams such as engineering, design, and marketing to ensure successful execution of product catalog initiatives.
- Conduct market research and data analysis to identify industry trends and opportunities for product catalog optimization.
- Create and maintain detailed project plans and timelines to track progress and ensure timely delivery of product catalog updates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize product catalog features and enhancements.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of product information and taxonomy across all categories and listings.
- Continuously monitor and analyze product catalog performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and trends in product catalog management and taxonomy.
- Train and mentor team members on product catalog processes and procedures.
- Represent eBay's Taxonomy & Catalog team in cross-functional meetings and present product catalog updates and strategies to senior leadership.
- Manage and oversee the budget for the Taxonomy & Catalog team.
Extensive Knowledge And Experience In Taxonomy And Catalog Management: A Sr. Product Manager In This Role Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Taxonomy And Catalog Management Principles, Processes, And Best Practices. They Should Also Have Hands-On Experience With Implementing And Optimizing Taxonomy And Catalog Systems.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Have The Ability To Analyze Large And Complex Data Sets, Identify Patterns And Trends, And Use This Information To Make Data-Driven Decisions For Taxonomy And Catalog Improvements. They Should Also Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Troubleshoot Issues And Implement Effective Solutions.
Prior Experience In E-Commerce Or Marketplace Industry: A Sr. Product Manager In This Role Should Have Previous Experience In The E-Commerce Or Marketplace Industry, Preferably In A Similar Role. This Will Give Them A Better Understanding Of The Unique Challenges And Opportunities Of Managing Taxonomy And Catalog For A Large Online Platform Like Ebay.
Proven Track Record Of Driving Successful Taxonomy And Catalog Projects: The Candidate Should Have A Strong Track Record Of Successfully Leading And Executing Taxonomy And Catalog Projects, Resulting In Improved User Experience, Increased Sales, And Better Search Results. They Should Also Be Able To Demonstrate Their Ability To Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Stakeholders To Achieve Project Goals.
Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Senior Role, The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills To Effectively Communicate With Team Members, Stakeholders, And Senior Management.
