Job Description

Drexel University is seeking a dedicated and skilled Fire and Emergency Services Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.   1. Conduct regular inspections of campus buildings and facilities to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  2. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals on campus.
  3. Respond promptly and effectively to all fire, medical, and other emergency situations on campus.
  4. Train and educate students, faculty, and staff on fire safety and emergency procedures.
  5. Maintain and regularly test all fire safety equipment, including fire alarms, extinguishers, and sprinkler systems.
  6. Collaborate with local fire and emergency services agencies to coordinate emergency response efforts.
  7. Conduct risk assessments and make recommendations for improvements to enhance campus safety.
  8. Investigate and document all fire incidents and provide detailed reports for review.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the university and local emergency services agencies.
  10. Monitor and enforce compliance with fire safety regulations and codes.
  11. Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices to continuously improve campus safety protocols.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to fire safety and emergency response.
  13. Remain on-call and available for emergency response at all times.
  14. Foster a culture of safety and emergency preparedness among the campus community.
  15. Collaborate with other campus departments to ensure a coordinated and effective response to emergency situations.
  16. Assist with the development and implementation of safety training programs for students, faculty, and staff.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Fire Science, Emergency Management, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Fire And Emergency Services, Preferably In A Higher Education Setting.

  • Certified Fire Officer Ii Or Higher From The National Fire Academy Or Equivalent.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Fire And Emergency Services, Including Osha And Nfpa Codes.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Diverse Groups Within The University Community.
