  1. Provide daily care and husbandry for all animals at Drexel University, including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and monitoring their overall health and well-being.
  2. Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of the animals, as well as compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  3. Maintain accurate and detailed records of animal observations, treatments, and any other relevant information.
  4. Assist in the implementation of animal enrichment programs to promote the physical and mental well-being of the animals.
  5. Participate in the training and handling of animals, as needed, for research and educational purposes.
  6. Monitor and report any changes or concerns in animal behavior, health, or environment to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal housing areas, as well as supply inventory and ordering.
  8. Collaborate with other team members to ensure the smooth operation of the animal care facility.
  9. Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and stay current on industry trends and best practices in animal care.
  10. Foster a positive and welcoming environment for visitors and guests to Drexel University, providing information about the animal care program and promoting animal welfare.

Job Qualifications
  • A Degree In Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working With Animals In A Laboratory Or Clinical Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Animal Behavior, Care, And Handling, As Well As Knowledge Of Animal Welfare Regulations.

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Administering Medication, Sample Collection, And Animal Restraint.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills, With The Ability To Work Closely With Researchers, Veterinarians, And Other Animal Care Staff.
