We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director, Head of U.S. State & Local Public Policy to join our dynamic team. As the leader of our State & Local Public Policy team, you will have the opportunity to shape and drive our government relations strategy at the state and local level. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for public policy and a deep understanding of the state and local legislative landscape. If you are a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with government officials, we want you to join us in our mission to empower local economies and communities through food.

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive state and local government relations strategy.
  2. Stay updated on current state and local legislative and regulatory issues that may impact the food delivery industry.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key government officials at the state and local level.
  4. Advocate for DoorDash's interests and policies in meetings, hearings, and other public forums.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of government relations strategy with overall business goals.
  6. Develop messaging and materials to effectively communicate DoorDash's position on relevant policy issues.
  7. Participate in industry associations and coalitions to advance DoorDash's policy priorities.
  8. Conduct research and analysis on state and local policy issues to inform strategic decision making.
  9. Monitor and track legislative and regulatory developments to identify potential risks and opportunities for DoorDash.
  10. Represent DoorDash in discussions and negotiations with government agencies and officials.
  11. Provide guidance and support to regional teams on state and local policy issues.
  12. Manage a team of state and local government relations professionals, providing mentorship and guidance.
  13. Collaborate with the Federal Government Relations team to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and goals.
  14. Analyze data and metrics to measure the impact of government relations efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
  15. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends in state and local government relations.

  • Comprehensive Understanding Of The Tech Industry, Particularly In The On-Demand Delivery Space, And The Ability To Navigate And Advocate For Doordash's Interests In This Complex And Evolving Landscape.

  • Proven Leadership Skills, With A Track Record Of Managing And Developing A High-Performing Team And Effectively Collaborating With Cross-Functional Teams To Achieve Shared Goals.
