
Autonomy Engineer, Motion Planning
We’re looking for a talented and passionate Autonomy Engineer, Motion Planning to join our Autonomy team at DoorDash. This is an opportunity to work with an experienced team and help us build the future of autonomous delivery. We’ll rely on you to develop and deploy motion planning algorithms that allow our autonomous vehicles to safely and efficiently navigate complex real-world environments.In order to be successful in this role, you should have a deep understanding of robotics and motion planning, as well as a passion for developing autonomous systems. You should have experience developing and deploying motion planning algorithms using C++ and ROS. You should be comfortable with software debugging and troubleshooting and have a strong background in robotics algorithms, mathematics, and software engineering.We’re looking for a creative problem solver who is excited to tackle challenging problems and has a “can-do” attitude. Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy motion planning algorithms that enable autonomous vehicles to safely and efficiently navigate complex real-world environments.
- Design, develop, debug, and troubleshoot motion planning algorithms using C++ and ROS.
- Utilize robotics algorithms and mathematics to create innovative motion planning solutions.
- Analyze and assess motion planning performance and accuracy.
- Identify and implement strategies for improving motion planning algorithms.
- Collaborate with other members of the Autonomy team to ensure successful deployment of motion planning solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of robotics and motion planning.
- Develop and implement test plans and procedures for motion planning algorithms.
