Job Description

Discover Financial Services is seeking a highly-motivated Senior Internal Auditor, Strategic Audit Resourcing to join our team. The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of internal audit processes and best practices, and a thorough understanding of risk management, finance, and compliance standards.The Senior Internal Auditor, Strategic Audit Resourcing will lead audit projects and activities, ensuring that all internal audit-related objectives are met and best practices are implemented. To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, and at least five years of experience in an internal audit or finance-related role. Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with audit management software is also required.This position requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You must have a strong attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality results. Responsibilities:

  1. Lead audit projects and activities, ensuring that all internal audit-related objectives are met and best practices are implemented.
  2. Maintain in-depth knowledge of internal audit processes and best practices, and a thorough understanding of risk management, finance, and compliance standards.
  3. Develop and document audit plans, procedures, and methodologies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  4. Conduct risk assessments and monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  5. Identify areas of potential risk and provide recommendations to mitigate those risks.
  6. Prepare audit reports and present to the Audit Committee and Senior Management.
  7. Monitor and review audit plans and processes to ensure compliance with standards and policies.
  8. Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  9. Ensure audit findings are properly reported and communicated to the appropriate parties.
  10. Evaluate and review internal control systems and processes.
  11. Provide guidance and training to other team members on the audit process.
  12. Assist in the development and implementation of audit plans and risk assessments.
  13. Stay current on the latest audit and risk management trends and best practices.
