Principal UDAAP Compliance Specialist

Discover Financial Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Principal UDAAP Compliance Specialist to join our Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the organization is in compliance with all applicable consumer protection laws.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably in the financial services industry. You should have a thorough understanding of UDAAP and the ability to interpret, analyze, and apply complex regulations to the business. The successful candidate should be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and evaluate the organization’s compliance with relevant consumer protection laws, particularly UDAAP regulations.
2. Research and analyze consumer protection laws and regulations and provide guidance on their application to business operations.
3. Maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations and any changes to them.
4. Develop and update compliance policies and procedures.
5. Identify and assess potential risks, vulnerabilities, and non-compliance issues.
6. Design and monitor compliance training programs and ensure that all personnel understand and adhere to relevant laws and regulations.
7. Investigate and document potential violations and complaints and provide recommendations for resolution.
8. Collaborate with internal business partners to ensure compliance with applicable consumer protection laws.
9. Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required.
10. Monitor and review advertising and marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
11. Provide guidance and support to other departments regarding compliance issues.
