Job Description

At Discover Financial Services, we are looking for a professional and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with attorneys and other legal staff on a variety of legal matters and projects.The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent and have a minimum of three years of relevant paralegal experience. Additionally, you should have excellent legal research and writing skills, be proficient in legal research databases, and have a working knowledge of corporate law.We are seeking an individual who is highly organized, self-directed, and able to produce quality work in a fast-paced environment. If you are detail-oriented and committed to providing the highest level of legal support, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and briefs.
  2. Conduct research on relevant legal matters, including corporate law.
  3. Utilize legal research databases to access and analyze case law and legal documents.
  4. Prepare reports on legal matters and projects.
  5. Maintain and update legal documents and records.
  6. Organize and manage filings, records, and other information.
  7. Perform administrative tasks related to legal proceedings.
  8. Collaborate with other legal staff on various projects.
  9. Provide support to attorneys as needed.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
