Job Description

As the Lead Third Party Resiliency, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and continuity of our organization by managing our third party relationships. Your expertise and guidance will be essential in mitigating potential risks and maintaining the highest level of resiliency for our company.   1. Develop and implement a comprehensive third party resiliency program that aligns with Discover's overall risk management strategy.
  2. Monitor and assess the resiliency of third party relationships, including conducting risk assessments and creating action plans to address any identified gaps.
  3. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with third party vendors, ensuring clear communication and understanding of expectations for resiliency.
  4. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and onboard new third party vendors, conducting thorough due diligence to ensure their resiliency meets Discover's standards.
  5. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures related to third party resiliency, staying updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  6. Lead and mentor a team of third party resiliency professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent and effective management of third party relationships.
  7. Communicate potential risks and issues to senior leadership, providing recommendations for mitigation and resolution.
  8. Serve as a subject matter expert on third party resiliency, providing training and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders.
  9. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to third party resiliency, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  10. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies related to third party resiliency.
  11. Collaborate with other departments, such as Legal and Compliance, to ensure third party resiliency is integrated into overall risk management processes.
  12. Stay informed on industry trends and developments related to third party resiliency, proactively identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  13. Represent Discover in external third party resiliency audits and assessments.
  14. Continuously assess and enhance third party resiliency strategies and processes to adapt to the changing needs and risks of the organization.
  15. Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to third party resiliency.

  • Extensive Knowledge Of Third Party Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess A Deep Understanding Of Third Party Risk Management Principles, Frameworks, And Best Practices. This Includes Experience In Conducting Risk Assessments, Due Diligence, And Monitoring Of Third Party Relationships.

  • Strong Leadership And Project Management Skills: The Lead Third Party Resiliency Professional Must Have The Ability To Lead A Team And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously. This Includes Developing And Implementing Risk Management Strategies, Overseeing Third Party Remediation Efforts, And Communicating With Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization.

  • Experience In The Financial Services Industry: A Solid Understanding Of The Financial Services Industry, Including Regulatory Requirements And Industry Standards, Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Have Experience Working With Financial Institutions And A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Risks Associated With This Sector.

  • Excellent Communication And Relationship Management Skills: The Candidate Must Possess Exceptional Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, To Effectively Interact With Internal And External Stakeholders. This Includes The Ability To Build And Maintain Relationships With Third Party Vendors And Ensure Effective Communication And Collaboration.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Lead Third Party Resiliency Professional Should Have Strong Analytical Skills To Identify, Assess, And Mitigate Risks Associated With Third Party Relationships.
