- Lead and manage a team of data scientists to develop and implement strategies for detecting and preventing harmful behaviors on the Discord platform.
- Use your expertise in data science to analyze and interpret data, identify patterns and trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and community safety, to develop and implement solutions for maintaining a safe and positive online environment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in data science and community safety to continuously improve and update strategies and processes.
- Effectively communicate complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership, to drive decision-making and prioritize safety initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and collaboration within the data science team.
- Develop and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards to track the effectiveness of safety strategies and initiatives.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of safety protocols and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Mentor and provide guidance to team members, helping them grow and develop their skills in data science and community safety.
- Represent Discord in industry events and conferences, showcasing our commitment to safety and promoting our data-driven approach to community safety.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Data Science Or Analytics, Preferably In A Tech Or Gaming Industry.
Strong Understanding Of Data Privacy And Security Regulations, As Well As Experience Implementing Safety Measures In Data Management.
Proven Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Data Scientists Or Analysts.
Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Work Cross-Functionally With Other Teams To Ensure Data Safety And Compliance.
