  1. Greet and welcome customers to the store with a friendly and positive attitude.
  2. Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns.
  5. Ensure that all merchandise is properly tagged and priced.
  6. Assist customers in finding products and offer product knowledge and recommendations.
  7. Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience for customers.
  8. Follow company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and store operations.
  9. Stay up-to-date with current promotions, sales, and product knowledge.
  10. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  11. Uphold a high level of integrity and confidentiality in handling customer information.
  12. Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues to the appropriate manager when necessary.
  13. Cross-sell and upsell products to customers to increase sales and meet targets.
  14. Attend training and development sessions to improve product knowledge and customer service skills.
  15. Adhere to all safety and security procedures to create a safe shopping environment for customers.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong Customer Service Skills: Retail Cashiers At Dick’s Sporting Goods Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills In Order To Provide Exceptional Service To Customers. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Knowledgeable About The Store’s Products And Policies.

  • Cash Handling Experience: Candidates For This Position Should Have Experience Handling Cash, Processing Credit And Debit Card Transactions, And Operating A Cash Register. This Requires Attention To Detail And Accuracy In Order To Prevent Errors And Discrepancies.

  • Basic Math Skills: As A Cashier, It Is Important To Have A Basic Understanding Of Math In Order To Accurately Calculate Prices, Handle Refunds And Exchanges, And Count Cash At The End Of Each Shift. Dick’s Sporting Goods May Also Require Candidates To Take A Math Proficiency Test.

  • Physical Stamina: Working As A Retail Cashier At Dick’s Sporting Goods Can Be Physically Demanding, As It Often Involves Standing For Long Periods Of Time, Lifting And Carrying Heavy Items, And Working In A Fast-Paced Environment.
