- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash transactions and ensure proper accounting of all cash, checks, and credit card payments.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking merchandise and managing returns and exchanges.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth and seamless shopping experience for customers.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to customers to increase sales and enhance their shopping experience.
- Continuously learn about new products and promotions to effectively assist customers with their purchases.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of store layout and inventory to assist customers with locating products.
- Handle customer complaints and escalate to a manager if necessary.
- Keep accurate records of daily transactions and reconcile cash at the end of each shift.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies, procedures, and product knowledge.
- Take responsibility for restocking and organizing the checkout area, as well as maintaining a clean and tidy work environment.
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the company's values and mission.
Previous Experience In Cash Handling: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Have Prior Experience Handling Cash Transactions, Preferably In A Retail Setting. This Includes Counting And Reconciling Cash Drawers, Using A Cash Register, And Processing Different Forms Of Payment Such As Credit Cards And Checks.
Strong Customer Service Skills: As A Retail Cashier At Dick’s Sporting Goods, The Candidate Will Be Required To Interact With Customers On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Excellent Customer Service Skills Are A Must. This Includes Being Friendly, Attentive, And Able To Resolve Customer Complaints Or Issues In A Professional Manner.

Therefore, A Basic Knowledge Of Various Sports And The Products Sold At The Store Is Highly Desirable. This Will Allow The Cashier To Assist Customers With Their Purchases And Make Relevant Product Recommendations.
