- Greet and welcome customers to the store in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their purchases and addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have.
- Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including keeping cash registers well-stocked and free of clutter.
- Ensure that all merchandise is properly scanned and priced and that all discounts and promotions are applied correctly.
- Process returns and exchanges and handle any customer complaints or issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
- Follow all cash handling procedures and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Keep up-to-date on all store policies, products, and promotions to provide accurate information to customers.
- Assist in restocking merchandise and maintaining store appearance as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process for customers.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the company in a positive light.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on new products, procedures, and policies.
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols to ensure the well-being of customers and employees.
- Meet and exceed individual and store sales targets by suggesting add-on items and promoting current promotions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager or supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Education Is Usually Required For A Cashier Position, As It Ensures That The Candidate Has Basic Reading, Writing, And Math Skills.
Customer Service Experience: Retail Cashiers Interact With Customers On A Daily Basis, So Having Previous Experience In A Customer-Facing Role Is Highly Desirable. This Includes Strong Communication Skills, The Ability To Handle Difficult Customers, And A Friendly Demeanor.
Cash Handling Experience: Retail Cashiers Are Responsible For Handling Cash And Processing Transactions Accurately. Previous Experience In Handling Cash And Operating A Cash Register Is Preferred.
Knowledge Of Sporting Goods: Working At Dick's Sporting Goods Means Being Surrounded By Different Types Of Sports Equipment And Apparel. Having A Basic Understanding Of Different Sports And Their Equipment Can Make The Job More Enjoyable And Help With Customer Inquiries.
