- Evaluate Credit Risk: The primary responsibility of the Credit Risk Officer is to assess the creditworthiness of potential clients and make informed decisions on lending approval based on risk levels.
- Develop Risk Management Strategies: The Credit Risk Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing effective risk management strategies to minimize potential credit losses and maintain a healthy credit portfolio.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Regularly conduct risk assessments on existing clients to identify potential risks and take necessary actions to mitigate them.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures in all credit risk-related activities.
- Monitor Portfolio Performance: Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the Wealth Management team to understand their clients' needs and provide appropriate credit solutions while ensuring a prudent level of risk is maintained.
- Analyze Financial Data: Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to make informed credit decisions.
- Communicate with Clients: Communicate effectively with clients to discuss credit risk assessment results and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in credit risk management to continuously improve processes and procedures.
- Provide Training and Guidance: Provide training and guidance to team members on credit risk management policies and procedures.
- Prepare Reports: Prepare regular reports on credit risk to be presented to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Foster a Culture of Risk Awareness: Promote a culture of risk awareness and responsible lending practices within the organization.
- Ensure Timely Response: Respond promptly to any credit risk-related issues or inquiries from internal or external stakeholders.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of all credit-related information and adhere to data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with Credit Agencies: Work with credit rating agencies to obtain and evaluate credit ratings for clients and use them to inform credit decisions.
Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Accounting, Economics, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Credit Risk Management, Preferably In The Wealth Management Industry.
Knowledge Of Relevant Regulations And Industry Best Practices Related To Credit Risk Management.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Complex Financial Data And Make Sound Risk Assessments.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Colleagues And Communicate Complex Concepts To Clients And Stakeholders.
