- Administer Peritoneal Dialysis: The Peritoneal Nurse will be responsible for administering peritoneal dialysis treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor Patient Progress: The Peritoneal Nurse will monitor and assess patient's physical and emotional well-being, document any changes in condition, and communicate with the healthcare team to determine appropriate care plans.
- Educate Patients and Families: The Peritoneal Nurse will provide education and training to patients and their families on how to perform peritoneal dialysis at home, as well as provide ongoing support and education on proper care and maintenance of equipment.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The Peritoneal Nurse will work closely with physicians, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Maintain Accurate Records: The Peritoneal Nurse will maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment schedules, medication administration, and any changes in patient's condition or treatment plan.
- Ensure Safety and Infection Control: The Peritoneal Nurse will follow all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Provide Emotional Support: The Peritoneal Nurse will provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or anxieties related to their condition and treatment.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: The Peritoneal Nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of care for patients and identify areas for improvement.
- Stay Informed on Industry Developments: The Peritoneal Nurse will stay informed on the latest advancements and developments in peritoneal dialysis and nephrology to provide the best possible care for patients.

Current Rn Licensure In The State Where The Job Is Located
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Nursing Experience, Preferably In A Dialysis Or Peritoneal Setting
Certification In Peritoneal Dialysis, Such As Certified Peritoneal Dialysis Nurse (Cpdn) Or Certified Nephrology Nurse (Cnn)
Strong Clinical Skills And Knowledge Of Peritoneal Dialysis Procedures And Equipment
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Support Patients And Their Families On Peritoneal Dialysis Therapy.
